Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH)
Admission Requirements
Incoming freshmen may declare the Public Health major upon admission to Baylor University.
Pre-Medical and Pre-Physician Assistant concentrations must be eligible to register for BIO 1305 / BIO 1105, and CHE 1301 / CHE 1101.
Students who wish to change their major to Public Health after completing course work at Baylor may do so only at the end of a full semester. Students must have a cumulative GPA corresponding to the minimum requirements for each concentration:

Transfer students must have a cumulative GPA corresponding to the minimum requirements for each concentration to declare the Public Health major.
Students whose cumulative GPA falls below the minimum requirement in any semester will be placed on probation for one semester. Students whose cumulative GPA falls below the required minimum for their concentration for a second consecutive semester will be dismissed from the concentration and must select another major or alternative concentration for which they do have the minimum cumulative GPA. Students will not be permitted to re-enter a concentration once dismissed. Students on the Pre-Medical or Pre-Physician Assistant concentration who do not successfully complete BIO 1305 / BIO 1105 and BIO 1306 / BIO 1106 with a C or better in 2 attempts will be dismissed from their concentration and must select another major or alternative concentration for which they do have the minimum cumulative GPA.
Current Public Health students who self-select to change their major during a semester (before grades post) in which their cumulative GPA falls below the minimum requirement for their concentration at the end of the semester, will be considered dismissed from the Public Health major and not permitted to return.

Although a 2.0 GPA is officially required for graduation, students must retain a higher GPA to remain, transfer, or change into the Public Health major (2.75 GPA) or its concentrations (3.0 GPA). For more information, see the Admission Requirements section for the Public Health major.

Pre-Medical concentration students must take MTH 1321. Pre-Physician Assistant concentration and Public Health major (general track - no concentration) students may take either MTH 1320 or MTH 1321.

Public Health major (general track - no concentration) must take HP 1420. Pre-Medical and Pre-Physician Assistant concentrations must take BIO 1305 / BIO 1105.
