Requirements for a Major in Museum Studies
|Thirty-six semester hours including the following:|
|MST 1300||Introduction to Museums||3|
|MST 4V60||Museum Internship||6|
Students may complete one 6-credit hour internship or two 3-credit hour internships.
Students must complete 120 to 150 hours of work at an approved stie for each 3 hours of credit received.

|Exhibit Design and Preparation|
|Special Topics in Teacher Education|
|Introduction to Cultural Collections|
|Introduction to Archival Collections and Museums|
|Historic Buildings and Sites|
|Introduction to Material Culture|
|Introduction to American Decorative Arts|
|Introduction to Outreach and Community Relations for Museums|
|Ethical Issues in Cultural Collections Management|
|A minor in a cognate field in the College of Arts and Sciences. 1|
|A grade of “C” or better in courses used for the major.|
Cognate Minors from departments including, but not limited to, the following: Anthropology, Art & Art History, History, and Journalism.
