A minimum 124 hrs are required for all undergraduate degrees at Baylor. Students who use ARTH 2302 or ARTH 2303 as their Fine Arts and Performing Arts requirement (as further explained below) will need differing numbers of elective hours and total hours, depending on how many hrs it takes to complete their Core requirements.
- 2
Core requirements and hours may vary based on individual student factors, including course selection, language proficiency, transfer status, specialized programs (e.g., BIC). Students should consult with their advisor and degree audit for additional information. Students fulfilling their Core in 49 hrs or less will be able to complete the Studio Art (BFA) major in 124 total hours.
- 3
Because ARTH 2302 Survey of Western Art I and ARTH 2303 Survey of Western Art II are both are included in the Fine Arts and Performing Arts DL (A&S), appropriate planning will allow students to fulfill 3 hrs of the major and general education requirements simultaneously. (The degree audit is built to allow this overlap between the major and Core requirements without petition.)
