Quantitative Business Analysis (QBA)

QBA 5131, using a mix of theory and case studies, enables students to develop a rich portfolio of tools to assist them in the planning process. The course seeks to develop students' technical skills in sampling, data analysis, and risk management tools essential to effective planning.

The course seeks to prepare students to use analytical tools including correlation analysis, regression analysis, and time series analysis.

QBA 5133, using a mix of theory and case studies, enables students to develop a set of tools to help them adapt to an organization's changing needs. The course seeks to develop students' technical skills in linear programming, quality control and improvement, and experimental design.
Application of statistical reasoning and methods to business-oriented problems. Topics include descriptive statistics, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, simple and multiple regression, quality control, and nonparametric methods.
This course is required for MBA and MSIS students who do not have an undergraduate degree in business from an AACSB accredited institution. The course will provide students with the business foundation in statistics which is expected of all business graduate students.
