Pre-College
Pre-College Programs offers a diverse range of opportunities designed to support both high-achieving students looking for academic enrichment and those who may need additional guidance to succeed. We provide credit and non-credit programs in both in-person and virtual formats, all aimed at fostering both academic growth and personal development.
Baylor University’s Accelerate programs provide a unique opportunity for rising high school juniors and seniors to build a strong foundation for their college journeys. These courses, which apply to multiple majors, allow students to explore their interests in an environment that prepares them for the rigor of Baylor and other universities’ academics at a discounted price. These program offerings include Accelerate and Early Admission Track.
Accelerate is the general pre-college program that allows high school students to take Baylor classes online while still in high school.
Early Admission Track is a special program for students who want to earn freshman admission to Baylor. Students in this program have the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school and conditional acceptance into Baylor.
Admission to the Accelerate program is competitive: Rising high school juniors and rising high school seniors are expected to demonstrate an exemplary academic record with excellent GPAs of mostly As and Bs in their high school courses.
For questions concerning registration for Accelerate, please email accelerate@baylor.edu.
Baylor Bridge offers an alternative pathway for prospective students who do not initially meet undergraduate admission requirements. Participants are invited to a residential experience during the Summer II term, where they attend classes, engage with campus resources, participate in student programming, and take part in community-building activities.
Students who successfully complete seven credit hours and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA will be granted full admission to Baylor University. For those who do not meet the requirements, the Admissions team will provide guidance on the transfer application process for a future term.
Baylor Dual Credit (BDC) is a traditional dual credit program that allows high school students to earn Baylor University credit for courses taken at their high school campus. Students are officially registered for the Baylor course in the final term of their high school class.
BDC students must adhere to all registration and drop deadlines for the semester in which they are enrolled. Upon completion, students can request an official Baylor transcript through the standard transcript request process.
