An interdisciplinary exploration of critical questions about the meaning of gender in society. Includes contemporary debates about appropriate gender roles, body image, violence against women, access to education and occupations, and women’s healthcare.
WGS 4390 Independent Study in Women's and Gender Studies (3)
Pre-requisite(s): WGS 2300
Students collaborate with a faculty mentor of their choice to explore complex issues from multiple perspectives and to dive deeper into specific areas like gender equality, identity, and intersectionality. Fosters critical thinking and reflection through in-depth exploration of course material. May include experiential learning.
