Requirements for a Major in International Studies (BA) - Intensive Concentration

Advanced Language Requirement
6 hrs. of advanced (3000- or 4000-level) modern foreign language courses 16
MFL course prefixes at Baylor include the following:
ARB, CHI, FRE, GER, ITA, KOR, JPN, POR, RUS, SPA, SWA
Complete one of the following:
Option 1: Study Abroad
Any Baylor Study Abroad program or any approved independent study abroad program.
Option 2: Internship related to International Affairs
Internship options should be discussed with IST program director and must receive approval to count towards requirement.

Courses taught in English will not apply here. To prepare to meet the advanced language requirement for the International Studies major, students should plan to take a modern foreign language that offers upper-level courses. Courses may not count both here and in the International Studies major.
