The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES) brings together complementary approaches to understanding the Earth as an integrated system shaped by physical, chemical, biological, and human processes. SEES provides students with multiple pathways to study the planet: from its materials, structures, and dynamic history to contemporary environmental challenges involving ecosystems, climate, resources, and human well-being.

Across all programs in Earth sciences, environmental sciences, environmental health, and geosciences, students engage in hands-on learning through fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and applied research connecting theory to real-world problems. SEES curricula emphasize interdisciplinary training, equipping students with a natural science foundation alongside quantitative, policy, and environmental health perspectives to address complex Earth and environmental systems. These experiences prepare graduates to work across sectors, including energy and natural resources, environmental and engineering consulting, sustainability and environmental management, government and public service, and research and education.
