Architecture (M.ARCH) Online
Program Director: Yoonjee Koh
Admissions Requirements
Baylor University's Master of Architecture curriculum is designed as an accelerated advanced-standing professional program. Admission is intended for students who already hold a pre-professional degree in Architecture (B.S., B.A., or equivalent) or Interior Design (from a CIDA-accredited program), with a minimum recommended GPA of 3.0.
Application Requirements
- Current resume or curriculum vitae
- Official transcripts
- Portfolio (PDF format) showcasing academic or professional projects. Portfolios should clearly identify the applicant’s role/contribution in any group or collaborative work. Applicants are encouraged to include process work, hand sketches, and photographs of physical models, in addition to final designs and renderings.
- Statement of Purpose (1 page) outlining academic preparation, design interests, professional objectives, and reasons for pursuing graduate study at Baylor University.
- Contact information for two references, who will be invited to complete a recommendation form.
- International graduate applicants must demonstrate English-language proficiency by submitting either Duolingo, TOEFL, or IELTS scores.
Evaluation of Prior Coursework
As part of the admissions review, undergraduate transcripts will be evaluated to determine whether foundational coursework aligns with the program’s core requirements. Applicants may be asked to submit course syllabi and descriptions of architecture and design coursework to assist in this evaluation. If foundational coursework requirements are not met, students may be required to complete leveling courses prior to enrollment or as part of their program of study at Baylor.
