General Business Concentration (MBA)
Graduate Program Director: Patsy Norman
The general Master of Business Administration degree is awarded after the successful completion of the requirements listed below.
A thesis option to the MBA degree is available. Students interested in this option should see the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs in the Business School.
All course work must be in graduate level courses.
Resident study of at least nine months at Baylor University is required. Not more than six hours of work may be transferred from another college or university. No credit will be given for work done by extension or correspondence, or for courses counted already toward a bachelor’s or another master’s degree.
All MBA candidates must earn an average grade of “B” (3.0) or higher in all courses. Any fully admitted student whose overall GPA falls below a “B” (3.0) average during any semester will be placed on probation for the next nine semester hours of graduate course work. If, after completion of the ninth semester-hour credit, the student’s overall grade point average is still below 3.0, the student will receive notification of dismissal from the Graduate School. Students receiving assistantships must maintain an overall grade point average of 3.0 to avoid being placed on probation. Probationary status prevents the student from Graduate Assistantships and tuition scholarships eligibility. Both the original grade and the new grade for a repeated course will be included in the overall GPA for graduation purposes.
Early in the semester in which the degree is to be awarded, candidates must complete an application for graduation found in BearWeb. Instructions for this form can be found on the Graduate School website.
